Workshop “Autumnal Trees. Watercolor and Mixed Media Techniques" in Recording
⏳ Duration: ~4,5 hours
Autumn trees give us permission to be bold. To use the colors we usually hold back, to let the paint run and glow, and to stop being so careful. In this live workshop we take one generous subject and paint it three different ways, and along the way we find something bigger: your own creative voice and a real sense of freedom in the process.
What we paint: We begin with a loose, semi-abstract autumn landscape, letting water and gravity do much of the work. Then we paint flowing trees glowing against a dark background, adding a touch of gouache or acrylic ink, crayons, and watercolor pencils. We finish with a close-up, deeply personal Tree of Life, a tree that comes from your heart and reflects your inner state.
What you'll learn: You'll discover how to let watercolor flow on its own terms while still guiding it, how to manage deep value contrast against a dark background, and how to use opacity next to transparency as a visual tool. You'll practice combining watercolor with dry and opaque materials you already have in your studio, and grow more courage with bold, personal color drawn from your own memories of autumn.
