Session 1: The Theory of Composition (2.5 hours)

In this foundational session, you’ll learn:
• The key purpose of composition: arranging elements, guiding the eye, creating meaning, and building harmony
• Types of composition: symmetrical, asymmetrical, radial, dynamic, static — and when to use each
• The “rules” of composition — and how (and when) to break them like a true artist
• Visual examples from great artworks to demonstrate theory in action
• How to manage space, contrast, and movement in a painting

📝 You’ll receive a creative homework assignment to apply what you’ve learned — and submit it to our Telegram group for feedback in Session 2.

📌 You’ll also get practical guidance on how to prepare for the live painting in our next session.

Session 2: Painting Practice + Live Feedback (~3.5 hours)

• We’ll begin with selected student homework: Sophia will demonstrate live what makes a composition strong, and how to adjust and elevate weaker ones.
• Then, we dive into a full mixed-media painting project:
A horizontal, fantasy-inspired composition based on an imaginative story prompt shared in Session 1.
You’ll learn how to build a visually compelling piece — with movement, rhythm, balance, and magic!
