"Face the Flow" is a four-session portrait journey designed to help you understand faces through structure, light, flow, and expressive mixed media.

Session 1 is the perfect beginning of the Face Flow journey.
In this class, we focus on the front view, the angle that looks simple at first glance but reveals so much about structure, balance, and expression.
You will learn to see the face not as isolated features but as a rhythm of planes, tonal relationships, and soft transitions that create a living, breathing presence on the page.

We start with a clear graphite foundation:

  • understanding proportions and alignment

  • mapping the main planes of the face

  • exploring the symmetry of the frontal angle without becoming rigid

  • learning which lines to emphasize and which to soften

Once the structure is in place, we move into watercolor washes — building gentle shadows, shaping form, and adding atmosphere. This combination of graphite + watercolor is intuitive, forgiving, and beautifully expressive.
You’ll also learn how to add mixed-media accents (crayons, watercolor pencils, ink, or a touch of gouache) to enhance texture, depth, and personality.

This session will help you:

  • gain confidence in drawing faces from the front

  • understand proportions, symmetry, and light

  • develop expressive yet controlled linework

  • use watercolor washes to bring softness and depth

  • create portraits that feel alive, calm, and natural

You don’t need previous portrait experience — this class builds from basics to expressive final painting in a supportive, step-by-step flow.

The price includes:

  • Live Zoom class (2.5–3 hours)

  • Lifetime access to the recording

  • English, German & Italian subtitles to follow

  • Materials list + reference images
